APRIL 20–22, 2023 | CAMDEN, SOUTH CAROLINA
These men and boys gave the supreme sacrifice with their lives—twelve for a new nation of Liberty, two to preserve their country and king. This national battlefield in the southern campaigns is also a cemetery. Archaeologists found them; coroners removed them; historians study them. Their remains are being handled with the caressed care and due honor befitting them. From the dusty sands of this field’s debacle, rise the solemnity of these heroes who re-envisioned Liberty in the revolutionary United States of America. This project will culminate in the respectful reinterment, with full honors, on April 22, 2023, of these soldiers in the actual locations where they were found on the Camden Battlefield. Thank God they lived. These fallen are not forgotten.

“It doesn’t take a hero to order men into battle.
It takes a hero to be one of those men who goes into battle.”
